Preparing for an interview

At Altrix you are required to have an initial interview when joining followed by yearly appraisals thereafter. We know preparing for an interview or appraisal can be a daunting task, especially when it involves a virtual meeting. We aim to make this process as smooth and professional as possible for both parties involved. To help you succeed, we have compiled a list of essential tips and guidelines.

Ensure a quiet environment

When attending a meeting, it is important to be in a quiet and private environment. Avoid multitasking or undertaking any other activities during the interview. This helps maintain focus and professionalism.

Check your device and connectivity

Make sure your device has a working video camera and microphone, along with a stable internet connection and sufficient power. Technical difficulties can disrupt the meeting and leave a negative impression.

Have necessary documents ready

If you are requested to show documents during the interview, make sure they are available and organised before the meeting starts. This shows preparedness and respect for the interviewer’s time.

Avoid virtual backgrounds

Using virtual backgrounds during video calls can cause issues, especially when showing documents. It is best to disable any virtual backgrounds to ensure clarity and avoids technical glitches.

Dress appropriately

Meetings with Altrix are professional and your attire should reflect this. It would be appreciated if you are dressed appropriately, presenting yourself in a professional and respectful manner, as would be expected for any formal interview.

Be patient with screenshots

The clinical interviewer may need to take screenshots during the call and name them accordingly. Please be patient during this process, as it is part of the interview procedure.

Understand timing protocol

The clinical interviewer will join the call within 10 minutes of the scheduled start time. If they are delayed beyond this time, they will contact your advisor to reschedule the meeting. Similarly, you will have a 10 minute window to join the meeting from the scheduled start time. If you fail to join within this timeframe, the link will be closed.

Contact us if you have technical difficulties

If you encounter any IT issues or need to cancel the meeting, contact the Altrix office immediately by calling 020 3826 6040. This ensures that any problems can be addressed promptly, and alternative arrangements can be made if necessary.
