We have seen consistent shift demand at several of our acute and mental health partnership trusts over the last few months and this is forecast to continue at some of our trusts as we go into spring.
There has been a strong focus on recruiting and retaining thousands of mental health nurses to support staff shortages within the NHS. Leaders have warned that nurses are fundamental to the delivery of mental health services across a variety of settings and further support is required to maintain safe staffing levels and that patient safety standards are met.
Altrix supplies a number of Mental Health Workers including Band 5 RMNs, Band 6 RMNs, mental health support workers Band 2 and 3 as well as community psychiatric nurses (CPNs). The demand for each area of work varies according to certain regions in the UK.

If you are looking for lines of work and more stability than traditional agency work, Altrix has work placements available for CPN and mental health workers at Kent and Medway NHS Social Care Partnership Trust and Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust. We would be more than happy to have a conversation with you about these opportunities. Please get in touch with Altrix if you or anyone you know would be interested.
The team at Altrix would like to remind you that trusts are releasing shifts in a shorter time frame than previously. This means you may not be able to see available shifts on your Altrix app so far in advance. With this in mind, we advise you to have your in-app notifications switched on to keep an eye out for newly added shifts and to also make sure you are regularly engaging with your consultant to inform them with your future availability so they can support with your bookings.
