Altrix are aware that the volume of available shifts is currently lower than you are used to, and this may be causing you some concern. This reduction in demand is being seen across the whole agency sector, and whilst there is normally a drop in the number of shifts required in April and May, the reduction this year has been greater than normal due to several contributing factors. These are as varied as the current industrial action resulting in reduced requirements and increased bank fulfilment across the board and particularly across lates and night shifts.
The NHS are working hard to reduce escalated agency rates and reliance on high cost or off framework agencies (agencies that have not been selected to supply via a government approved procurement framework, where the framework requires the agency to meet rigorous recruitment standards that provide assurance that patient care will be maintained) The good news is Altrix are a framework approved agency and we are well placed to continue to receive the shifts that are available and we continue to work with our NHS Clients to improve our partnership with them, of which you are a very important and valued part.
So what does this mean for you? Please be assured whilst we work closely with our partners to help reduce highly escalated rates, we are also working hard to ensure that our margins are kept to a minimum so we are able to offer you the best rates of pay we possibly can for each trust.
Furthermore, Altrix always release every new shift as soon as we receive them from our NHS Partners, giving you the ability to book them on the app as soon as they are available to us. The good news is we still have a large volume of shifts that go unfilled, including a significant number of day shifts. Please do look on the App regularly to see if any of these suit your availability and requirements.
